WCLA PAC: EXPOSING Un-Vaccinated Anti-Choice Candidate knocking on neighbors' doors!

Source: WCLA PAC.

ALERT
Westchester County Legislative District 15

(Yonkers - Bronxville)

The CLD 15 Republican candidate ringing doorbells in your neighborhood & shaking hands at events is not vaccinated AND not wearing a mask.

Apparently anti-choice anti-vaccination James Nolan only believes in My Body My Choice when it comes to the vaccine & HIS choice. Women' reproductive healthcare be damned!

People are opening their doors totally unaware. Other candidates are standing next to him at events. Nolan simply doesn't care about anyone else's healthcare needs.

Eric Schoen of the Yonkers Times said it so well: "How would you feel if in the middle of a pandemic, an unvaccinated candidate for public office knocked on your 80 year old parents door asking them to support him/her for office? The candidate did not tell them he was unvaccinated. Ringing the downstairs doorbell if it was an apartment building to get in, walking the halls, wringing doorbells and meeting your parents face to face."

"While on the campaign trail, Nolan knocked on a door of a nurse in Yonkers, who asked if he was vaccinated. She then spoke out against the fact that he was campaigning, and knocking on doors without a vaccination." Yonkers Times

One can't help but wonder if the people at, for example, the Greystone Jewish Center/Chabad of Yonkers knew when Nolan appeared there unmasked that he is also unvaccinated.

Please share this!  Warn your neighbors, family and friends to be on alert!

Yonkers Insider: City of Yonkers: Happy Halloween Yonkers' Seniors!

The City of Yonkers hosted Halloween events across the city for Yonkers' seniors.

The threat of social isolation is real, and with the COVID-19 proving to be effective, the city is once again able to host events for seniors, and they could not be happier.

Harckham Endorses Westchester County Clerk and Supreme Court Candidates.

Dear Friend,

Remember, Election Day is Tuesday, November 2.

Tim Idoni for Westchester County Clerk

The Westchester County Clerk since 2006, Tim updated the County Clerk’s office and transformed it into an income generator that has saved residents millions of dollars. The office’s mobile unit travels throughout the county and serves residents where they live. A consummate public servant, Tim deserves to be reelected.

For New York State Supreme Court 9th Judicial District: Robert Berliner, Christie D'Alessio, Tom Davis, James Hyer and Thomas QuiƱones

Over the last four years our Court system has been the final battleground for some of our core democratic values. That’s why I wholeheartedly support the reelection of Judge Berliner and this slate of extremely qualified candidates, all of whom will preside in court with judicial integrity and impartiality.

Please support Tim Idoni for County Clerk and Berliner, D’Alessio, Davis, Hyer and QuiƱones for State Supreme Court, 9th Judicial District—and don’t forget to vote!

Thank you,

Pete Harckham

Westchester Insider: Election Desk 2021 News: Statement from Christine Sculti Republican for Westchester County Executive: Elections 2021.

I stood today with Rob Astorino at a press conference for the second time to hold George Latimer accountable for his failure to protect Westchester residents. We now know that planeloads of individuals crossing the southern border illegally are being dropped at multiple locations around the county and that they are not all children but rather many are adult males. Mr. Latimer has been falsely claiming that these individuals were all children and that none were being resettled in Westchester. I join residents who are rightfully fed up with Mr. Latimer’s stonewalling on major public health and public safety issues. In addition, these operations at the county airport not only break curfew but, since the aircraft being used are much larger, their weight and size likely violate the FBO lease provisions, as these flights are deplaning on the private side of the airport. Sadly, we have seen this before when Mr. Latimer wouldn’t stand up to Cuomo on the nursing home scandal, as almost 900 Westchester seniors lost their lives. Now, Mr. Latimer won’t stand up to President Biden’s border debacle, which is directly affecting our communities — especially as it comes to limited affordable housing, overcrowded schools and further straining taxpayers living in the highest taxed county in America. Westchester residents should not become potential collateral damage to George Latimer’s refusal to hold members of his own party accountable. Is Mr. Latimer incompetent or lying? Either way, he does not deserve to be re-elected. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 2nd—make your voices heard!

Yonkers Insider: City of Yonkers: POW-MIA FLAG CEREMONY.

Wednesday, October 27, Alana Kindelan and Natalie Naughton ~ Girl Scout Troop 1730, completed their Silver Badge project by raising and purchasing 100 POW-MIA (Prisoner of War ~ Missing in Action) Flags for the City of Yonkers.  Their goal was to make sure that this symbolic flag proudly flies over all schools, parks, police and fire stations, libraries and government buildings throughout Yonkers.  They made it their business to ensure that we never forget those who never made it home.  Well done girls.  You have made
the City of Yonkers proud.

CONGRATULATIONS ON RECEIVING YOUR SILVER BADGE!

New York State Insider: Legislative Update: Shared Work Bills Signed.

I’m thrilled to share that two of my bills related to the New York State Department of Labor’s Shared Work programs have been signed into law. These programs provide businesses and employees the flexibility to weather economic downturns by preventing layoffs, reducing the cost of training new employees, and allowing employees to receive partial unemployment benefits while working on a part-time basis.

S18A creates a requirement for the Department of Labor to annually provide information to employers about the shared work program. The Department of Labor must make this information available on its website, and conduct outreach to employers to provide information about the benefits of shared work programs.

S17A authorizes employees to petition an employer, without fear of retaliation, to apply to participate in a shared work program in order to avoid reducing the workforce or in order to rehire.

Both will increase awareness of shared work programs and help New Yorkers to build back stronger from the pandemic.

New York State Insider: New York State Senator Shelley Mayer 37th District: $2.7 Million Delivered to Doral Arrowwood Workers.

This week, I was pleased to announce with Attorney General Letitia James that the Doral Arrowwood workers, who were terminated on Christmas Eve nearly two years ago, are receiving $2.7 million owed to them for violations of the WARN Act.

Upon hearing that they were let go, I immediately reached out to ensure their rights would be protected under the WARN Act. We continued to advocate for the workers with the New York State Department of Labor and the Attorney General’s Office. For the past year and a half, my community outreach specialist, Perla Arellano, did an excellent job of keeping in contact with the workers. We ensured they were informed and their voices were heard throughout the case, and even attended court appearances with them. Thank you to New York State Attorney General Letitia James, New York State Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon and Jane Lauer Barker Esq., who worked tirelessly on behalf of the employees.

New York State Insider: New York State Senator Pete Harckham 40th District: Early Voting and Strengthening Our Voting Rights.

Early Voting and Strengthening Our Voting Rights.

Dear Friends:

Believe me: each election now is important—and so is your vote.

Early voting in this year’s elections runs through Sunday, October 31st. There is no voting on Monday, November 1st. Your early voting poll site may be different from your election day poll site, so click here to check your poll site location.

Also, be sure to postmark your absentee ballot by November 2 or drop it off at any early voting or election day poll site.

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO FLIP YOUR BALLOT AND VOTE YES FOR VOTING RIGHTS!

There are three propositions on the back of the ballot dealing with protecting and increasing our voting rights. I urge you to vote YES on Propositions 1, 3 and 4.

While other states aggressively restrict access to the ballot, New York will send a message to the rest of the country--that everyone’s vote should count, and increasing voting rights strengthens our democracy!

Yes on Proposition 1 puts New Yorkers ahead of politicians during the redistricting process. This will continue the effort to set uniform criteria for drawing political districts.

Yes on Proposition 3 ends voter registration deadlines before elections.

Yes on Proposition 4 guarantees voters the use of an absentee ballot with no excuse needed. Voters will still need to request their absentee ballot but will be able to do so without needless red tape.

Also, vote yes on Proposition 2 to enact a NYS Environmental Rights Amendment to guarantee the right to clean air and water. And vote yes on Proposition 5 to increase the jurisdiction of the NYC Civil Court.

Remember: the five statewide ballot proposals on the back of your ballot will impact our democracy’s future!

FLIP YOUR BALLOT AND VOTE YES ON 1,2, 3, 4 and 5!

Pete Harckham
