I stood today with Rob Astorino at a press conference for the second time to hold George Latimer accountable for his failure to protect Westchester residents. We now know that planeloads of individuals crossing the southern border illegally are being dropped at multiple locations around the county and that they are not all children but rather many are adult males. Mr. Latimer has been falsely claiming that these individuals were all children and that none were being resettled in Westchester. I join residents who are rightfully fed up with Mr. Latimer’s stonewalling on major public health and public safety issues. In addition, these operations at the county airport not only break curfew but, since the aircraft being used are much larger, their weight and size likely violate the FBO lease provisions, as these flights are deplaning on the private side of the airport. Sadly, we have seen this before when Mr. Latimer wouldn’t stand up to Cuomo on the nursing home scandal, as almost 900 Westchester seniors lost their lives. Now, Mr. Latimer won’t stand up to President Biden’s border debacle, which is directly affecting our communities — especially as it comes to limited affordable housing, overcrowded schools and further straining taxpayers living in the highest taxed county in America. Westchester residents should not become potential collateral damage to George Latimer’s refusal to hold members of his own party accountable. Is Mr. Latimer incompetent or lying? Either way, he does not deserve to be re-elected. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 2nd—make your voices heard!
