Ashraf moved to Yonkers after graduating law school and started working for the Westchester County DA's office and he met his wife (who grew up and lived in yonkers) while working in the Yonkers City Court. He is from West Virginia originally.
Michael is a son and grandson of immigrants to the United States (his father is Pakistani and his mother is German and Polish) as well as spending his childhood in West Virginia in a family of medical professionals leaft him humbled and appreciative to serve currently as a Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Office of the Westchester County District Attorney.
Having worked as an Assistant District Attorney for over 14 years and specifically assigned to the Yonkers City Court for over six years, Ashraf believes that he has a unique wealth of insight and experience to share as well as the necessary understanding of and experience with Yonkers City Court.
In his current position as an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County, he has had the pleasure of promoting the professional development of other Assistant District Attorneys and have supervised their work and work product.
Not only was it his duty to prepare and manage the criminal calendar of the busiest local court in this County but he has shared the burdens of decision making and supervisory leadership.
Michale has directed the work of other Assistant District Attorneys in the investigatory, pretrial, and trial stages of criminal matters in the Yonkers City Court Bureau.
Additionally, his strong ties to the City of Yonkers, where he has lived for over ten years, along with my extended families ties to the City (his mother in law is Carol Daly, 11th Ward Co-Leader), make me uniquely qualified for the position of City Court Judge.
