FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: YONKERS MAYOR SPANO APPOINTS SEASONED CITY PLANNER AND MUNICIPAL OFFICIAL CHARLENE INDELICATO AS YONKERS PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT COMMISSIONER.

YONKERS, NY – June 27, 2025 – Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano today announced his appointment of Charlene Indelicato as Yonkers’ newest Planning & Development Commissioner. A seasoned city planner and municipal official, Indelicato will serve as acting commissioner, pending Yonkers City Council confirmation.

 

“Charlene joins our Administration with a unique skill set and expertise in municipal planning, administration and governing,” said Mayor Mike Spano. “I am confident she will take the momentum we’ve created over the last decade and build upon it to further expand our economic development efforts in a smart and measured way, serving all those in our community.”

Indelicato joins the City of Yonkers with over 30 years of experience, as an attorney and city planner for several Westchester County municipalities. Previously, Indelicato served as President and Executive Director of Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation, where she was responsible for the Island’s Tram and Island Bus Transportation System and Public Safety Department. She also previously served as Village Administrator for Dobbs Ferry and the Planning Commissioner for the City of Mount Vernon. Indelicato also served as Corporation Counsel for the City of New Rochelle, City Manager for the City of New Rochelle and was the Westchester County Attorney. Indelicato holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. John’s University and a Juris Doctorate from Pace University’s School of Law.
