Thank you, Yonkers.
I am incredibly humbled and grateful to be re-elected as your Councilwoman for District 2.
This victory is not mine alone; it belongs to everyone who believed in me, walked this journey with me, and helped carry this campaign to the finish line.
First and foremost, I thank God for giving me the strength to persevere, the grace to lead, and the heart to serve.
To my family, thank you for your love and patience. To my husband Jonathan, thank you for being my rock—for holding down the fort, for keeping our home stable and strong, and for putting our children to bed night after night while I was out campaigning. The truth is, I hadn’t tucked them in for months, and that sacrifice was only possible because of your unwavering support. To Rohan, Alexander, and Valentina thank you, my loves, for your patience, your hugs, and your understanding, even at your young ages. I know how many moments I’ve missed, but I hope you know that everything I do is for you and your future.
To Leslye, there are no words that fully express how grateful I am for you. You not only campaigned with me daily, but you also ran the office with incredible effectiveness. Time and again, I’d knock on a door and hear, “I’ve never met you, but I called your office and you were wonderful.” And by you, they meant you, Leslye. Your commitment, leadership, and loyalty carried this campaign in ways big and small.
To John Tomlin, thank you for running a smart, disciplined, and deeply effective campaign—from the mail to the messaging to the strategy. You were steady, thoughtful, and brilliant from start to finish.
To Darren Rigger, thank you for your work as my fundraiser. Campaigns are incredibly costly, and your efforts ensured we had the resources to compete and communicate effectively.
To the unions and organizations who stood with me - Yonkers Federation of Teachers, 32BJ SEIU, 1199 SEIU, Westchester/Putnam Building & Construction Trades, Yonkers Firefighters Local 628, Yonkers UFOA, Local 100, TWU Local 100, NYS Nurses Association, Westchester/Putnam Central Labor Body AFL-CIO, Community Voices Heard, Hispanic Democrats of Westchester - thank you for believing in the work we’ve done and the work we still have left to do. Thank you also to Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins and Congressman George Latimer. Your support means the world.
And finally, to the voters of District 2: THANK YOU! Thank you for trusting me to represent you, to fight for you, and to be your voice on the City Council. Every vote cast in my name is a reminder of the responsibility I carry and I do not take it lightly.
This victory belongs to all of us. Let’s continue building a better Yonkers, together.
With love and deep gratitude,
Corazón Pineda-Isaac
