Dear Friends and Neighbors,
June is Gun Violence Awareness Month.
As an elected official, I’m committed to addressing the critical issue of gun violence in Yonkers and surrounding cities in Westchester so that all residents can enjoy a high quality of life.
In my first year as Legislator, I have proposed the implementation of the Task Force and County Executive, George Latimer, embraced the idea and activated the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. The Task Force is currently being formed with a clear vision – to raise awareness, advocate for change, and work together to create positive opportunities and safer neighborhoods for all. I am grateful for the CE’s willingness to partner on this issue that means so much to me and I am excited to move forward together on this initiative, confident in the positive change we can bring.
I look forward to providing further updates on our progress as we go forward.
Together, we can and will make a difference by building a safer, brighter future for all Westchester residents.
Sincerely,
Honorable Shanae V. Williams
Legislator, 16th District
