On April 19, 2022, the Yonkers City Council held a Real Estate Committee meeting as well as a Rules Committee meeting. All items on both agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items.

Real Estate Committee Meeting Agenda

1.    A Special Ordinance Authorizing an Encroachment In The Right-Of-Way On Huntsbridge Road, Subject to Certain Terms and Conditions. (Moved to Rules Committee Meeting agenda of April 19, 2022)

1. Settlement Resolution - $7,500.00 – ELIZABETH TAYLOR - plaintiff allegedly sustained personal injuries when she was struck in the face by the parking gate arm on the upper level of the Government Center Garage parking facility at 87 Nepperhan Avenue. 2. Resolution – authorizing the disposition of surplus city property.

3. General Ordinance – amending Chapter 91 of the Code of the City of Yonkers entitled “Garbage and Refuse” with regard to amending duties to keep sidewalks clear. (No Fiscal Impact.) (All Councilmembers.) (Moved to Legislation & Codes Committee for further discussion)

1.Resolution transferring Lead Agency Status under SEQRA to the Yonkers Planning Board for the amendment of Chapter 43 of the Code of the City of Yonkers, commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map of the City of Yonkers, for premises known as 273-297 Glenwood Avenue, 146 Lake Avenue, and 164 Lake Avenue fronting on both Father Finian Sullivan Drive and Somerville Place, bearing tax identification numbers of Section 151.62, Block 2172, Lots 29-41,43 & 44, collectively the “property” from the “M” district to the adjacent “A” district. 2.Resolution of the City Council to support adoption of the proposed NY-NJ Watershed Protection Act: H.R. 4677 and its signature into law (Moved to Environmental Policy & Protection Committee for further discussion)
  
3.Resolution of the City Council of Yonkers supporting energy choice and reducing energy costs for Yonkers residents and all New Yorkers by urging the New York State Senate and Assembly to oppose Senate Bill S-6843a, S-8198 and Assembly Bill A-8431, A-9329 that would reduce energy choices and increase energy costs in all of New York State by completely eliminating the use of safe clean natural gas for home heating and cooking. (Moved to Environmental Policy & Protection Committee for further discussion)
 
 4.Resolution of the Yonkers City Council to honor the family and community’s request to honorarily rename the portion of Nepperhan Ave. between Odell Ave. and Cross Hill Ave. “Yonkers Police Officer Harold Woods Way” (Moved to City Council Stated Meeting agenda for April 26, 2022, with Public Hearing date in mid-May to be determined at a later date)

5.Resolution of the City Council of Yonkers requesting the New York State legislature to pass legislation authorizing the City of Yonkers City Council to pass a local law allowing the City of Yonkers to establish special school no speed zones and to utilize photo speed violation monitoring systems and establish special school no speed zones in and around City of Yonkers schools (Moved to City Council Stated Meeting agenda for April 26, 2022)
