Congratulations to Lincoln High School Principal Ian Sherman and everyone who attended the Re-dedication of the Renovated Auditorium. It was dedicated to the memory of teacher and talented pianist Josephine A. Caruso for her contributions to the Lincoln High School community, the Yonkers Public Schools and our entire city.
As a former Public School Principal and Yonkers Board of Education President I know the value of the Arts in Education, so I was pleased to be able to obtain a $250,000 State Grant for the renovation and upgrading of this important facility.
Lincoln High School's Arts Education Program will benefit as will the community. The Friday afternoon ribbon cutting was followed by a reception hosted by School Board President Rev. Steve Lopez, Board of Education Trustees, Yonkers Superintendent of Schools Dr. Edwin M. Quezada and was attended by local and State officials.
