I met with representatives of the The New York American College of Emergency Physicians, including Yonkers resident Mary E. McLean, MD. They are seeking support for a statewide approach to better organized and managed Emergency Medical Services, and also have concerns about the high cost of insurance for ER Doctors.
I meet with advocates and staff from Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic this week via zoom. This organization does important work supporting reproductive health care. Planned Parenthood is calling on the State to expand Medicaid coverage for Pregnant Women from 60 days to one year post-pregnancy. The goal is to reduce New York's increasing maternal death rate. I am supporting this initiative. We should not accept an increase in material deaths in a state with the resources we have at hand.
