Paving the Road for Congestion Pricing

As New York begins to emerge stronger from the pandemic, learn why congestion pricing is needed now more than ever.

We were joined by Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan and policy experts across various sectors. New York State is estimated to have the fourth-highest number of lead pipes in the country according to NRDC.

NYLCV praised Governor Hochul for appointing Kathryn Garcia as the Director of State Operations. Previously, Garcia served NYC as the Commissioner of the Department of Sanitation, Chief Operating Officer at the Department of Environmental Protection, and the "Czar" for lead poisoning prevention and COVID-19 emergency food distribution. The remnants of Hurricane Ida caused epic flooding in NYC subway stations, tunnels, and homes and also led to the tragic loss of life in Queens. Elected officials are becoming aware of the alarming regularity at which New York City is now experiencing catastrophic climate events. Our President Julie Tighe reminds us that infrastructure projects must be started as soon as possible to mitigate the climate catastrophes that are likely to continue.  (Queens Eagle)

NYS announced a $3.2 million project to revitalize the Coxsackie State Boat Launch and Riverside Park on the Hudson River in Greene County. The project will be the first state boat launch to be renewed under the Hudson Eagles Recreation Area, an initiative to improve public access and resiliency on the wild stretch of the Hudson River between Albany and Kingston and enhance connections to the waterfront communities in the region.
