The rain did not stop us from taking a busload of Yonkers teenagers for a day of fun. We could not go to Rye Playland because of the weather, so we went to Sky Zone Trampoline Park in New Rochelle instead. Thank you to everyone who made this possible, including Yonkers Firefighters Local 628, Yonkers CLSA (Captains, Lieutenants, and Sergeants Association), SEIU Local 704, and Spano Fuel. I would like to send a special shout out to Lakisha Collins-Bellamy who came to hang out with us, and of course my staff, Leslye Oquendo-Thomas and Darwin Molina, who pulled this off in less than 48 hours once we knew for sure that a rain storm was coming.
