Yonkers Insider: Statement from Yonkers City Council Majority Leader Corazon Pineda Issac 2nd District.

 




Summer has been extended! I was initially hoping to congratulate all of our fellow students on a wonderful first day of school, but with the heavy rainfall from the storm a few days ago, it seemed best to push off the start date. Thursday September 9, 2021 will mark the first full day of school for students K-12, while Friday September 10, 2021 will consist of a half day Pre-K orientation.

My empathy goes out to everyone who was affected by the storm that hit earlier this week, with myself included. I know that many in our city had flooded basements, and were unable to go to work the following morning. Fortunately, being a few days removed, most of the effects have subsided. Have an amazing weekend!
