I was honored to kick-off the first Soccer Tournament in Memory of Liony Polonia Santos, the Peekskill High School teen soccer star who drowned in the Delaware River on July 4. The all-day event raised money for three soccer scholarships in Liony's name. I presented a certificate of recognition to Liony's father, Roy Escobar (r), and Luis Coronel (c), President of the Peekskill/Cuenca Sister Cities Corp, which helped organize the event.
