We write this Candidate Spotlight on Yonkers City Council President Candidate, Democrat Peter Spano in the 2021 Elections in the June 22nd Democratic Party Primary. Peter is a Lifelong Yonkers Resident. He has been very active and has dedicated his life to making Yonkers a better place to live by always looking to improve our Quality of Life for every Yonkers Resident in the City that He loves so much.
For Almost 2 Decades, Peter has been active with the Yonkers Democratic City Committee and Westchester County Democratic Committee and has served as a District Leader.
Peter coaches our Youth in Sports at Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers. He is in charge of the Junior Varsity Team and is an Assistant with the Varsity Basketball Team.
Volunteerism is a Real Passion for Peter Spano, being involved in many nonprofit organizations like the following: Feeding Westchester, Knights of Columbus, Rotary, Kiwanis, Yonkers Community Action Program, Volunteers of America, Yonkers Family YMCA, Police Athletic League of Yonkers, Yonkers C.E.R.T. and the Office of Emergency Management in Yonkers.
Peter is very committed about improving Our City of Hills, here in Yonkers. He has always looked for Programs that help everyone in our Yonkers Community to better and empower our City of Yonkers Residents.
One of his recent projects is the Rebuilding of Basketball Court and Playgrounds throughout Yonkers in a way of working together with people to make our Basketball Courts and Playgrounds even better, by being a Staunch Fighter and Advocate on this very issue and leading by Example.
Some other actions that he has done has included creation of Positive Mental Health and Anti-Bullying Environments. He also offers Free Programs to under-served Residents and their families. Some of his New Projects includes designs for after-school programs for kids and senior citizens, both online and in person when available.
Peter sees that a Greener and Cleaner Yonkers is right around the corner with renewable energy on the horizon for all of Yonkers Residents.
His Opponents in the June 22nd Democratic Party Primary for Yonkers City Council President are: Yonkers City Council President Mike Khader and Community Leader Lakisha Collins-Bellamy.
