As we greet the month of May, our thoughts turn to gardening, the start of summer and - this year especially - hope for some relief from the hardships and losses we have all been experiencing. Recent social restrictions highlight the fact that our freedom is a gift to be cherished, and how important it is to reflect on those that fought for the freedoms we have all grown so accustomed to.

Traditionally, the American Legion Auxiliary offers poppies as a reminder of the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. As we are unable to continue that tradition this year, we ask that you please take a few moments to explore the links below in memory of our beloved Veterans. Please also consider making a donation to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1038 to support our programs.

This year brings into focus other types of heroes as well - the people in various professions that are on the front lines of COVID-19, making sure that we maintain as much freedom as is safe for us individually and as a society. Let’s keep these heroes in our hearts and prayers and be thankful for everyone who is sacrificing to keep us, the citizens of the United States, safe, healthy, and free!
