MAYOR SPANO & PROMINENT YONKERS ARTISTS UNVEIL YONKERS WATERFRONT’S LATEST PUBLIC ART.

Mayor Mike Spano will join prominent Yonkers-based artists Paul Greco and Luisa Baptista for the unveiling of two newly created pieces of public art, Thursday, July 11 at 10:00 am in downtown Yonkers.

Paul Greco’s mosaic Mediation Circle is located in the sculpture meadow along the waterfront at 20 Water Grant Street which connects to the larger urban culture of the Yonkers Downtown. Mediation Circleis the latest addition to the meadow as his artwork joins dozens of public art pieces displayed through the Yonkers Downtown and contributes to the city’s burgeoning arts scene.

Mayor Spano will also be recognizing artist Luisa Baptista for her mural, Waterfront Vibes, located inside the Buena Vista Parking Garage Center at 20 Buena Vista Avenue. Baptista’s mural is a contemporary piece of art meant to complement the Yonkers Downtown Waterfront and was a hit at this year’s Yonkers Arts Weekend.
