Yonkers Police Department Announces 2025 Police Officer Entrance Exam.

Yonkers, NY- The highly anticipated Yonkers Police Department Police Officer Entrance Examination is here! We are calling on all interested candidates between the ages of 17 and 42 who want to step up and serve their city!

The Entrance Exam will be held on September 20, 2025. Those interested are directed to joinYPD.com for the official exam announcement, downloadable application, and all information needed to apply.

Starting pay at the time of appointment is $70,229; a salary that rises to $106,707 after five years of service.

Applications can be downloaded from joinYPD.com. Printed applications can be obtained from:

-Department of Civil Service at 1 Larkin Center

-YPD Records Division at 104 South Broadway

-Any of the four Yonkers Police Department precincts.

Completed applications MUST be filed in person and can only be submitted at:

Department of Civil Service, located at 1 Larkin Center, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Weekend filing will be available at the YPD Community Affairs Division, located at 127 North Broadway (PAL Building), on Saturdays ONLY from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The filing deadline for all applications is July 25, 2025, at 4:30 pm.
