🖤❤️💚 Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day of reflection, resilience, and freedom.
On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom - more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Juneteenth reminds us that the fight for justice and equality is ongoing.
Let’s continue to uplift Black voices, confront injustice, and build a Yonkers and a nation where freedom truly means freedom for all.
