On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, the Yonkers City Council held a Rules Committee meeting. All items on the agenda appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items. 

Rules Committee Meeting Items for Consideration – Administration   1. Special Ordinance – Amending the City of Yonkers capital budget for fiscal year 2024/2025 by increasing the capital budget by $3,000,000 (Moved to Legislation & Codes Committee for further discussion) 2. Special Ordinance – Authorizing acceptance of the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) Community Resiliency, Economic Sustainability, and Technology (CREST) grant program in the amount of $1,300,000, amending the City of Yonkers grant budget for fiscal year 2024/2025, and issuing a negative declaration pursuant to SEQRA. (Moved to Legislation & Codes Committee for further discussion and will be on Stated City Council meeting agenda for October 8, 2024) 3. Resolution - Advice and consent to the appointment of Carolina Neubern de Freitas Fonseca as Commissioner of Planning and Development. (Moved to Stated City Council meeting agenda for October 8, 2024) 4. Resolution - Setting a public hearing for October 22, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. pursuant to section C5-7(c) in relation to amending the city of Yonkers capital budget for fiscal year 2024/2025 (Moved to Stated City Council meeting agenda for October 8, 2024) 5. Resolution - SEQRA for the capital budget amendment adding design of Grant Park School (Moved to Legislation & Codes Committee for further discussion) 6. Resolution - Granting the state of New York authority to perform installation of street lighting systems for the City of Yonkers and agreeing to maintain facilities adjusted via state-let contract (Moved to Legislation & Codes Committee for further discussion and will be on Stated City Council meeting agenda for October 8, 2024)    Items for Consideration – Council   Old Business: 1. Local Law amending section C14-20, entitled "Reserved", of Part E, entitled "Office of Human Rights and Affirmative Action", of Article XIV of the Charter of the City of Yonkers, entitled "Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation". (Moved to Community & Mental Health Services Committee for additional amendments) 2. Resolution of the Yonkers City Council seeking Lead Agency status under SEQRA and authorizing and directing notice to all other involved agencies of a proposed general ordinance amending the city's zoning map by rezoning a portion of the premises known as 218 South Broadway from its current “SB-Central Subdistrict” zone classification to a "C" commercial district zone classification to match the “C” commercial zone classification of 12 Bright Place, the neighboring property. (Moved to Stated City Council meeting agenda for October 8, 2024; Public hearing set for October 22, 2024 at 7:05pm.)     New Business: 1. Resolution of the Yonkers City Council to honor the family and community’s request to honorarily rename Halley Street between Mile Square Road and Crescent Place “Patrick Quinn Way” (Item will stay in committee pending public hearing, which is set for October 22, 2024 at 6:45 pm.) 4.
