Hello Yonkers,
Wishing a Shana Tova to everyone celebrating Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. May the months ahead be filled with health and happiness.
As we look forward to a new season, lace up your sneakers and join me for the 1st Annual “Break the Silence for Domestic Violence” 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 9 AM (Opening Ceremony) at Tibbett’s Brook Park Loop Trail.
We invite you, your team, friends, and family to participate in a morning dedicated to raising awareness, honoring survivors, and remembering those lost to domestic violence.
The event is dog- and stroller-friendly (leashed dogs only), and there’s a Children’s Zone with activities for kids ages 5-10 (donation required).
Not running? You can still help by donating or volunteering on the day of the event. Your support is crucial for raising funds and awareness for this important cause in Westchester County.
This year's proceeds will benefit the YWCA of Yonkers, supporting Domestic Violence Community Education and Services. Your involvement will make a significant difference for those in need.
For more details, to register, sign up your child for the Children’s Zone, volunteer, or donate, https://events.elitefeats.com/24breakthesilence
If you have any questions, please contact Charlotte Vinson, Personal Legislative Aide, at (914) 995.2813.
Thank you for your support! Together, we can create a safer, more supportive community for all.
Sincerely,
Honorable Shanae V. Williams
Legislator, 16th District
