I started the week by attending the Labor Picnic 32BJ Event where we celebrated our local member unions hard work and dedication. We must continue to support initiatives that uplift our workforce and promote fair wages and labor practices.
Additionally, I joined the Italian-American community at the Yonkers City Hall Unity Fountain for the Flag Raising and attend the Reception honoring Columbus Day.
This week we had the Grand Opening of Blu Print, a new customized clothing business in Yonkers.
Furthermore, I attended the ASEZ Star Youth Forum concert, organized by a remarkable volunteer group. Their dedication to community service and cultural exchange is inspiring, and the concert was a testament to the talent and unity within our community.
A personal highlight was attending the wedding of Hammad and Esha, daughter of my friend Mohammad Jan. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
Moreover, I met with Frank McDonald, President of Yonkers PBA. We discussed ongoing public safety initiatives and how we can continue to work together to make Yonkers a safer city.
Finally, I attended the consecration of my parish the Virgin Mary Church in Yonkers. It was a significant occasion for many in our community, filled with prayers, blessings, and a 60 year presence in our community.
I again call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon! I urge all involved parties to engage in negotiations for a lasting peace agreement, which includes the release of all hostages and prisoners. Additionally, it is imperative that the international community promptly addresses the hunger, starvation, and displacement affecting the entire population of Gaza, and now Northern Israel, Southern Lebanon, and the West Bank. From the start of this conflict, over 45,000 have died, 100,000 are injured, and 2 million displaced from their homes. This must stop immediately! |
