NY Prop 1: The New York Equal Rights Amendment:

One statewide proposition will come before the voters on the November ballot — Proposal Number One, An Amendment, known commonly as the New York Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). Currently, our State Constitution enshrines protections only from discrimination on the basis of race and religion. The New York ERA would add protections from discrimination on the basis of age, disability, ethnicity, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, and pregnancy outcomes (which would cover abortion) to the State Constitution. This proposal will appear on the back of your ballot, along with any county or municipal referendums.
