Yonkers Insider: Statement from Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano.

 

Dear Neighbors, It's the unofficial last weekend of summer. Many families are preparing their young students for another school year. I am proud to say we collected more than 400 backpacks for the annual Mayor's Backpack to School Drive. Thank you, Yonkers for always stepping up and providing our kids with supplies and backpacks for a successful school year. We are opening two new schools this year: The Justice Sonia Sotomayor Community School and the Robert Halmi, Sr. Academy of Film and Television. Both schools will welcome students for the first time next week when schools open in the Yonkers Public School District. To our kids, teachers, and administrators, have a great year!
