Yonkers Insider: Statement from New York State Assemblyman Nader Sayegh 90th District.

This week, I exercised my vote and voted in this years Democratic primary. I urge all constituents to participate in Democracy by voting in the Primary this Tuesday and the upcoming General Election. The urgency was clear as we mobilized our community to ensure their voices were heard highlighting the impact of every vote in shaping the future of our party. I presented Mr. John Alfano Sr. with an award honoring his hard work and dedication to the Tri-State Football Youth Program. Additionally, my office attended The Yonkers Waterfront Artist Event. It was an opportunity to engage with local artists and community creators. Moreover, we commemorated Juneteenth. Chandra Sookdeo, my staff member for constituent services, had the opportunity to attend the Juneteenth Heritage Festival alongside Annie Willis, District Director for Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins. It was a meaningful event that highlighted the importance of June 19th and community unity in celebrating freedom and progress. This weekend, my family and I celebrated the special wedding and joyous union of my daughter Hana to Dr. Issa Khoury. God bless and grant the new couple a life filled with happiness, peace, and prosperity. I again call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza! I urge all involved parties to engage in negotiations for a lasting peace agreement, which includes the release of all hostages and prisoners. Additionally, it is imperative that the international community promptly addresses the hunger and starvation affecting the population in Gaza. From the start of this conflict, nearly 40,000 have died, 80,000 are injured, and 1.5 million Palestinians have been displaced from their home.
