I am proud to have sponsored Bill A8359/S8121 with Senate Sponsor Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, designating the Tuckahoe Road overpass above the Sprain Brook Parkway as the Detective Sergeant Frank Gualdino Memorial Bridge. Special thanks to Mayor Mike Spano, Police Commissioner Christopher Sapienza, County Legislator James Nolan, and the Gualdino family, especially Lisa Gualdino, for their invaluable support. Additionally, as we celebrate Flag Day, let's honor the symbol that unites us as a nation, representing our shared values and history since its adoption on June 14, 1777. Additionally, I was honored to attend the Hudson River Museum Gala: Gilded Splendor, where I proudly announced a $25,000 earmark for the museum's Planetarium Programming. This funding will enhance the evolving Earth Science curriculum, covering physical, environmental, and sustainability education. The evening also celebrated the contributions of New York Presbyterian-Westchester, CEO of Arts Westchester Janet T. Langsam, and artist and community convener Janet Santos Solomon. As a long-time supporter of the Hudson River Museum, I am dedicated to fostering educational and cultural initiatives in our community. This weekend, let's have a Happy Father's Day—a special time to appreciate and honor the fathers and father figures who have shaped our lives with their love, guidance, and support. It's a moment to cherish their presence and reflect on the profound impact they've had on us. Moreover, my office is actively addressing constituent concerns and responding to housing needs in our community. From advocating for affordable housing initiatives to facilitating rental assistance programs, our office is dedicated to making a real difference. I again call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza! I urge all involved parties to engage in negotiations for a lasting peace agreement, which includes the release of all hostages and prisoners. Additionally, it is imperative that the international community promptly addresses the hunger and starvation affecting the population in Gaza. From the start of this conflict, over 37,000 have died.
