Yonkers Insider: Sports Desk: Power Hitter J.D. Martinez signs with NY Mets to be their Designated Hitter this year.


Free Agent Power Hitter J.D. Martinez has signed with the NY Mets to be their Designated Hitter and to give First Baseman Pete Alonzo protection in the Mets lineup for this year. 

Martinez signed a one year deal with the NY Mets to be their Designated Hitter this year. 

He played for the LA Dodgers last season.

Opening Day for NY Mets is on Thursday at Citi Field against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Other Free Agent rumors that the NY Mets are  interested in Free Agent pitcher Jordan Montgomery perhaps I guess stay tuned.
