YONKERS, NY – February 14, 2024 – Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano today announced registration is now open for the 97th Yonkers Marathon, hosted by the City of Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation on Sunday, September 15, 2024. The day will also include a Half Marathon and 5K, all beginning at the Yonkers Riverfront Library on the Yonkers Waterfront at 8:00 AM. Registration for all races is available at www.yonkersny.gov
“We welcome thousands of runners each year to our great City,” said Mayor Mike Spano. “Our hills may be a challenge, but these athletes prove time and again the course is worth the training and commitment. Come out and see our beautiful City, celebrate our history, and participate in one of the most prominent races in the region.”
Yonkers Parks Commissioner Steve Sansone said: “The 2024 Yonkers Marathon is a culmination of motivation, dedication, and commitment by runners to the sport. This is one of Yonkers’ longstanding traditions that we celebrate. Run, volunteer, applaud – we value everyone’s participation.”
The Yonkers Marathon, the second oldest marathon in the country, is USA Track & Field certified and is a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon.
