This day begins Kwanzaa, a week-long celebration of African American culture and heritage by families and communities around our City and nation.
Earlier this month, we held a Pre-Kwanzaa celebration at City Hall with giveaways for our children. You can watch the celebration and learn more about Kwanzaa here.
Kwanzaa is a time to reflect on the seven guiding principles of the season: unity, self-determination, responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.
