Assemblyman Sayegh is introducing legislation that clears any ambiguity about the continuation of Live Racing at Harness and Thoroughbred Race Tracks in New York, whose adjacent video lottery terminal operations might soon transition to Full-Scale Casino Licensed Facilities. Horse racing employees over 19,000 New Yorkers from Jockeys to Veterinarians to Trainers, Farmers and more.
All told, it represents $3 Billion dollars for the state's economy annually. Assemblyman Sayegh discussed the legislation with Joe Faraldo, President of the association that represents Harness Racing interests, Yonkers based, Standardbred Owners Association (SOA). Staff member Kerry Donovan joined the discussion.
