Assemblyman Sayegh, as member of the Assembly Standing Committee on Education and Chair of the Subcommittee on Students with Special Needs, has introduced additional legislation impacting public school funding, policies, and initiatives.
- The TEACH Act (A0068), would assist communities in bringing new graduates with college teaching degrees back to the public schools they attended.
- The Rebuild Our Schools Act (A0096), would amend the education law to allow certain high need districts to receive an additional supplemental building aid ratio for projects addressing capacity shortages.
- The School Aid Equity Act, (A0103), increases foundation aid for school districts that meet five variables impacting academic success; free or reduced lunch, English language learners, wealth ratio, enrollment, special education, and being located in a high wealth ratio county.
- Also introduced (A3067), which requires school districts to provide educational and support services to students with disabilities until they turn 23.
- The Education Funding Census Act (A0067) which would require New York State to utilize the latest available data in determining disbursement for Foundation Aid
- (A0087) which would provide for the Trustees of the State Univerity of New York to charter a 4-year baccalaureatte degree granting comprehensive SUNY College in the City of Yonkers
