Last Thursday, surrounded by my friends and family, I made a commitment to my Yonkers community.
I announced my decision to run for Mayor of Yonkers.
It is a privilege to serve on the City Council for over 9 years, where I continuously advocate for those most vulnerable in our community. I am fighting to keep Yonkers an affordable community for those who have been here for generations. I understand how we can feel unseen by our government; when we are pushed out of our homes through rent hikes and our children are neglected by lack of investment in our schools. I want to be an usher of change in our city where we can see those who best represent the people of Yonkers in positions of leadership. We don’t need to find people to invest in Yonkers, it’s time that Yonkers starts investing in our people.
My decision to run for Mayor is already making waves. Our campaign’s drive for change is highlighted in this article, which speaks to the new life people want in our present leadership. There need to be new voices and new ideas. Join me in my mission to advocate for a government made by Yonkers for Yonkers.
