Yonkers Insider: Yonkers City Council Meetings- December 13, 2022 by Yonkers City Councilwoman Corazon Pineda Issac 2nd District.

 




This evening, December 13, 2022, the Yonkers City Council held a Real Estate Committee meeting and the last Stated City Council meeting of the year. All items on the agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items.

Real Estate Committee Meeting Agenda

1. Local Law authorizing the sale of city-owned property at 66 Pier Street to the City of Yonkers Industrial Development Agency for the development of housing, open space, and public parking improvements (Moved out of Real Estate Committee and placed on City Council meeting agenda for December 13, 2022)

2. A Resolution to issue a Determination of Significance pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act ("SEQRA") for a petition for an amendment of the zoning map for premises known as 21 Scarsdale Road and more particularly described as Section 4, Block 4544, Lot 1 to change the current "I" Industrial Zone classification to the "A" Apartments and Other Uses Zone classification to allow the construction of two residential apartment buildings with a total of 150 units. (Moved out of Real Estate Committee and placed on City Council meeting agenda for December 13, 2022)


Stated City Council Meeting Agenda

1. Special Ordinance authorizing acceptance of the County of Westchester Housing Implementation Fund (HIF) – Lamora Senior Housing Infrastructure Improvements Grant Program in the amount of $3,400,000 and amending the COY grant budget for FY 2022/23 (Adopted 6-0, with one abstention)        
           
2. Resolution – approving certain tax certiorari settlements (Adopted 7-0)    

3.  Resolution – approving IMA between the COY and the County of Westchester, County of Nassau, County of Suffolk and Port Authority of NY and New Jersey for mutual aid assistance involving major emergency transportation units (Adopted 7-0)    

4.Resolution – advice and consent to the reappointment of Alfred C. Vasso, Jr. to the Zoning Board of Appeals (Adopted 7-0)    

5. Resolution – schedule a public hearing relating to the proposed amendment of Chapter 43 of the Zoning Ordinance of the COY, commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the COY and the accompanying map to reclassify and rezone the properties located at 273-297 Glenwood Avenue, 146 Lake Avenue and 164 Lake Avenue designated on the tax map of the COY as Block 2172, Lots 29-41, 43 & 44 (Adopted 7-0)    

6. Resolution – to declare the City Council’s intention to seek lead agency under SEQRA for the petition of Sarah Lawrence College for an amendment of the zoning map to change current zone classifications to the “CU” college and university zone classifications (Adopted 7-0)    

7.   Resolution – Commissioner of Deeds (Adopted 7-0)       

Addenda Items:

1.Resolution finding that the action to transfer 66 Pier Street to the City of Yonkers Industrial Development Agency for the purpose of developing housing, open space, and public parking improvements will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment. (Adopted 7-0)
