Oct 27, 2022 - Last night at approximately 10:24 PM, members of the Yonkers Police Department responded to the area of 290 Woodworth Avenue on a report of a male having been shot. Upon arrival officers located a 15-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his lower body; he was transported to a local area trauma center and is currently in stable condition.
Preliminary investigation has yielded that the victim was in front of location with several others when a suspect approached, displayed a handgun, and fired at least three gunshots in their direction, striking the victim at least two times. The suspect then fled the scene.
Investigators are actively working to identify and apprehend the perpetrator and determine the motivation for the assault.
