On Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the JFK Marina, I attended a Memorial Ceremony in honor of "Scoop" Boyce Coleman.
On Sunday, September 7, 2014, "Scoop" Boyce Coleman drowned while saving a 6-year-old boy in the Hudson River.
Scoop managed to pass the little boy to another person, saving the child's life, before slipping under the water's surface and losing his own.
A park bench and a plaque at the JFK Marina were dedicated in honor of the City of Yonkers' hometown hero.
