HAMMER TIME: At the Yonkers Shop Rite, a female suspect approached a woman from behind and struck her in the head with a ball-peen hammer.
DOWNTOWN YONKERS: The suspect was taken into custody and the victim was transported to a local area hospital with a head laceration.
The women knew one another, and the incident appears to be domestic in nature, according to the Yonkers police Department.
Yonkers Voice, Video Journalist Ru Ros was there as the victim was transported to the hospital.
Charges are pending against the suspect.
