Yonkers Insider: Statement from Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano.

 

Dear friend,

This week I joined Police Commissioner Chris Sapienza to swear in 26 new members to the Yonkers Police Department.

I am proud to say the officers sworn in are reflective of our City in large part thanks to a program the city invested in, Be A Hero, Be The Change which is aimed to creating a more diverse police department. 

It is an initiative designed to increase enrollment in the Yonkers Police Officer exam by offering exam prep, training for the physical and agility, and sharing key insights into the Yonkers Police Department. 

These men and women are some of the best Yonkers has to offer and I couldn’t be prouder of this class of officers who will go on to serve and protect those in our great City of Yonkers.
