I'm horrified by today's devastating school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas that left nineteen children and a teacher dead.
No family should ever have to endure the pain of losing their loved ones to senseless and barbaric acts of violence like the one we've witnessed today. From Western New York to South Texas, these unspeakable acts in recent weeks strike the heart of our nation's conscience and ask what it will take for us to confront the reality of the problem our nation faces head-on. I ask that you keep these families and this community in your thoughts in their time of mourning. We owe it to them to do everything we can to help prevent tragedies like this from ever happening again.
