As an immigrant representing a City with many immigrants and diversity, I stand up for the rights of all Yonkers residents, and take action to honor the many cultures, traditions and diversity that make Yonkers great.
This week, I introduced Legislation passed unanimously in the State Assembly to proclaim April as Arab American Heritage Month in New York State. For over a century, Arab Americans have been making valuable contributions to every aspect of American society.
At the State Capitol this week, representatives of local and national Diaper Banks from across the State and Nation came to lobby for passage of my legislation to Exempt All Infant and Adult Diapers from Sales Tax.
Thursday my Assembly colleagues J. Gary Pretlow and Thomas Abinanti and I hosted an in person and LIVE Streamed Town Hall Meeting on the 2022-2023 New York State Budget. I thank Riverside Library Director Jesse Montero and his staff for their support. |
