Yonkers Insider: New York State Assemblyman Nader Sayegh 90th District: Untermyer Gardens Support.

 


I met with the President of the Untermyer Gardens Conservancy, Stephen F. Byrns to discuss the possibility of securing additional State financial support for this world famous example of Persian Gardens right here in our city. The Conservancy is dedicated to the revitalization of Samuel Untermyer’s once great gardens, now a City Municipal Park in Yonkers.

The Conservancy's staff of gardeners works hard to showcase the exuberant horticulture in the magnificent landscape designed by Welles Bosworth in 1916 and people come from across the U.S. and beyond to see Untermyer. The park is now often prominently featured on a variety of I Love New York advertisements.
