While I couldn't attend in person, I took the time this week in Albany to be part of a special Elizabeth Seton Children's Hospital Event event, celebrating with the Sr. Mary Kay Finneran Mission Awards Ceremony for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and the Sr. Miriam Kevin Phillips Mission Award for Nursing Excellence.
The annual CNA awards are presented to Certified Nursing Assistants who embody Elizabeth Seton's values of respect, diversity, loving relationships, excellence, evolution, growth & change and collaboration and innovation. This year's winners are Analicia John, CNA at Bryant Park and Vinen McKenzie, CNA at Riverside Park.
The 2022 recipients of the Sr. Miriam Kevin Phillips Mission Award for Nursing Excellence went to Allison Mazak, RN, Bryant Park, Jacqueline Goncalves, RN, Marine Park and Marianna Stotska, RN, Children's Rehabilitation Center
I'm proud to be a supporter of Elizabeth Seton's Children Hospital, their patients, and their staff. It's why I'm also pleased to report that their new pediatric young adult wing is well underway and will be completed soon. This extension will allow children who have received extensive care at the hospital to stay in the familiar environment that has provided them the love and care they deserve. I'm proud to have pushed for this issue in last year's budget and look forward to its opening.
