Yonkers Insider: Statement from Yonkers City Councilman & Majority Whip John Rubbo 4th District: SPECIAL SCHOOL NO SPEED ZONES.

 


On Tuesday, April 19, 2022, I am presenting a resolution before the City Council which would ask NYS to authorize the City of Yonkers to pass a local law allowing the City to establish special school no speed zones and to utilize photo speed violation monitoring systems and establish special school no speed zones in and around the city.

This resolution is very important to me.  Speeding motorists are a particular hazard in school zones, where children and their families are vulnerable to distracted speeding drivers.
