My thoughts are with the Yonkers Police Department Detective who was seriously injured as a result of today’s shooting on Elm Street. I ask that our community pray for his quick recovery and keep his loved ones in our thoughts amid this challenging time.
We owe an immense debt of gratitude to the members of the law enforcement agencies who serve our communities and their families who bravely put their lives on the line for us every single day. Yonkers is one of the safest cities of its size in the United States, and as we are tragically reminded today, the valiant courage of these officers are the reason why.
