The Yonkers City Council held a Community Services Committee meeting and a Stated City Council meeting this evening, February 22, 2022. All items on both agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items. 

Community Services Committee Agenda 1.Resolution – approving the submission of grant application to the NYS Division of Homes and Community Renewals (HCR) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES) Program to help fund three Community Initiatives. (Positive Fiscal Impact.) (All Councilmembers.) (Moved out of Committee. Item will be placed on Council agenda after public hearing is scheduled. Date to be determined.) 2.Presentation by Community Planning Council of Yonkers City Council Stated Meeting Agenda 1.     LOCAL LAW – AMENDING SECTION C8A-1 OF ARTICLE VIIIA OF THE CHARTER OF THE COY IN RELATION TO THE COMMISSIONER OF HOUSING AND BUILDING (Adopted 6-0) 2.     GENERAL ORDINANCE – AMENDING CHAPTER 20 OF THE YONKERS CITY CODE IN REGARD TO HAWKING, PEDDLING AND COMMERCIAL SOLICITING (Adopted 6-0) 3.      SPECIAL ORDINANCE - AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE NYS DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES LIVESCAN EQUIPMENT PROGRAM 2021 GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,957 AND AMENDING THE COY GRANT BUDGET FOR FY 2021/22 (Adopted 6-0) 4.       SPECIAL ORDINANCE – AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF STATE GRANT FUNDING FROM THE EMPIRE STATE DEVELOPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,000,000 AND AMENDING THE COY GRANT BUDGET FY 2021/22 (Adopted 6-0) 5.         RES – APPROVAL OF A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW FOR AN EXPANSION OF AN EXISTING CONVENIENCE STORE AT SECTION 6, BLOCK 6071, LOT 17.12, ON THE PROPERTY KNOWN AS 41 ALIDA AVENUE A/K/A 631 YONKERS AVENUE PURSUANT TO  ARTICLE VII OF THE YONKERS ZONING ORDINANCE (Returned to Real Estate Committee) 6.           RES – APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF GRANT APPLICATION TO THE NYS DIVISION OF HOME AND COMMUNITY RENEWAL (HCR) COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) CORONAVIRUS AID, RELIEF AND ECONOMIC SECURITY ACT (CARES) PROGRAM  TO HELP FUND THREE COMMUNITY INITIATIVES (Held over until Public Hearing takes place on March 8, 2022 at 5:45pm) 7.     RES – APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF YONKERS AND CHANNEL OUTDOOR, LLC (Adopted 6-0) 8.           RES – APPROVING IMA BY AND BETWEEN THE COY AND THE COUNTY OF WESTCHESTER TO ACCEPT CSE TRANSPORTATION SERVICE FY 2021-2022 GRANT FUNDING (Adopted 6-0)                                     9.           RES – CONSENTING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF DR. JAMES HASSELL AS A MEMBER TO THE YONKERS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (Adopted 6-0)   I encourage Yonkers city residents to keep up with these items to stay current on what is happening in our city!
