On Monday, January 3rd, The Yonkers City Council Held their Annual Yonkers City Council Reorganization Meeting. The Yonkers City Council Voted by a 5-2 Vote to make Yonkers City Councilwoman Tasha Diaz of the 3rd District - Yonkers City Council Majority Leader. Yonkers City Councilmembers Shanae Williams 1st District and Corazon Pineda Isaac 2nd District Voted against making Tasha Diaz, Yonkers City Council Majority Leader. This was the first Council Meeting of Newly Sworn In - Yonkers City Council President Lakisha Collins-Bellamy.
Councilwoman Williams made an Impassioned Speech on the Yonkers City Council Floor on Why - She decided to Vote NO.
We wish Majority Leader Diaz Success in her Role as Majority Leader.
