The Home Energy Assistance Program.
The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps low-income people pay the cost of heating their homes and apartments. The HEAP regular enrollment period ends on March 15.
If you are eligible, HEAP will help you pay for your utilities. To receive non-emergency HEAP support, you must complete an application. Applications take approximately 30 days to process and winter temperatures are here, so please complete your application as soon as possible. Applications can be completed online, in person or can be submitted through the mail. More information can be found here: http://socialservices.
Given the date and temperature, please know that you may be eligible for Emergency HEAP benefits if you are in danger of running out of fuel or having your utility service shut off. If this is your situation, contact the HEAP program office as soon as possible.
