FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: #Yonkers Housing Authority Helping Residents Displaced in Fire PRESS RELEASE: #MHACY Is Seeking To Get Elliot Avenue Families Back Into Permanent Housing YONKERS: MAHCY has already begun working to guide some of the Elliot Avenue fire victims through the application process for permanent housing. The four-story building at 81 Elliot Avenue was engulfed in flames just after 11 p.m. on December 25. Eligible residents could be offered housing units in existing market rate MHACY housing or may be offered a housing voucher through the Section 8 federal housing subsidy program which provides subsidies to landlords of non-MHACY buildings.
