The Yonkers City Council held a Real Estate Committee Meeting, as well as a City Council Stated Meeting this evening, November 23, 2021. All items on the agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council.

Real Estate Committee Meeting

1. Resolution of the City Council of the City of Yonkers declaring Lead Agency under SEQRA and scheduling a public hearing relating to the proposed amendment of Chapter 43 of the Code of the City of Yonkers, commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Yonkers, making "Automobile Rental Establishments" a permitted use (with supplemental requirements) in the B "Restricted Business and apartment houses medium-density" district of the city. (Added to tonight's Council Stated Meeting agenda for a vote)

4. Resolution - Approving an Inter-Municipal Agreement by and between the City of Yonkers and the County of Westchester for the Sexual Risk Avoidance Education Program (Adopted 7-0)

5. Resolution - Recognize and address the scourge of rampant shoplifting occurring in retail business occurring throughout the City of Yonkers (Adopted 7-0)

6. Resolution - To issue a Declaration of Climate Emergency (Adopted 5-2, with Minority Leader Breen and Council Member Merante voting against)

7. Resolution - Calling on Mayor Spano to appoint Golda Solomon as the City of Yonkers First Poet Laureate (Adopted 7-0)
