MERANTE DECLARES VICTORY IN YONKERS CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT 6 RACE.
All the votes have been counted and we are past the deadline for receipt of any more absentee ballots. As the final count stands Anthony Merante leads Tim Hodges by 239 votes. There were 233 valid absentee ballots cast, so statistically Mr. Hodges cannot overcome this lead. Therefore, the Merante Campaign is declaring victory. Councilman Merante stated “Firstly, thank you to all my supporters who voted and worked tirelessly on my behalf. I’m honored to be able to continue to work for the residents of District 6 and the people of Yonkers. I will continue to be the “People’s Councilman” and work to represent ONLY your interests and concerns at City Hall”.
