FEMA’S YONKERS DISASTER RECOVERY CENTER TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY HURRICANE IDA.
Multi-Agency Assistance Available at Grinton I. Will Library,
Open Daily, 8AM-7PM.
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano and representatives from FEMA, New York State, Westchester County, the City of Yonkers and others will gather Thursday, September 16 at 10:00 am at Grinton I. Will Library (1500 Central Park Ave., Yonkers) to highlight Yonkers’ Disaster Recovery Center (DRC), which offers in-person support to individuals and small business owners affected by the severe storm and flooding caused by Hurricane Ida.
The Yonkers Disaster Recovery Center features assistance from:
· Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
· Small Business Administration (SBA)
· American Red Cross
· NY Project Hope
· NYS Department of Labor (DOL)
· NYS Department of Health (DOH)
· NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS)
· NYS Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
· NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA)
· NYS Department of Financial Services (DFS)
· NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH)
· Westchester County Office for the Aging (OFA)
· City of Yonkers Office of Constituent Services
Residents may also register for assistance using the FEMA App, online at www.disasterassistance.gov, or by calling 800-621-3362 or (TTY) 800-462-7585.
Applicants who are not eligible for assistance from FEMA may still receive assistance from private volunteer organizations and/or state and local governments, represented at the Yonkers DRC.
The DRC is open daily at the Grinton I. Will Library, from 8AM-7PM.
