Every time when property taxes are due there are some taxpayers who forget to pay their tax bill on time.
Unfortunately, if someone forgets to pay their taxes they are charged a late fee (which I personally think is excessive). The first half of the school taxes are due the last day of September. We put the following signs around town earlier this month reminding taxpayers to pay their taxes on time and will put up the signs in January and April—other times when bills are due. We don’t want you to forget to pay your bills. We don’t want you to be fined with a penalty.

Hope you find the signs helpful. The town has no control over school taxes since the school district is independent of the town. We are the tax collector.
